Wyoming Short Film Contest 2012

What's the deadline to submit? When do you announce the winner? When can I vote? Et cetera!

We will announce the winner on May 10th. For all other questions about deadlines, visit the "Timeline" tab at the top of the page.

How many films can I enter?
You can enter up to four films.

How long can my submission be?
We have a runtime limit of 15 minutes. If you're a few seconds over we'll let it slide, but if you're breaking the 16 minute mark you may get a call asking you to re-edit and resubmit.

What media file format and size do you accept for entries?
Max file size is 200MB. The upload tool converts video to FLV. It accecpts .3gp, .avi, .flv, .mkv, .mp4, .mpeg, .mpg, and .mov files for conversion.

How do I enter a film?
Users have to create a MyWyoming Account to vote for a video.  To create a valid account you have to use a valid email address and verify it before it becomes active. Just hit "Create Account" at the top right of this page to get started. Once you're signed in, hit the "Submit a Film" button under the About tab. There's a full step-by-step on that page.

How does voting work?
To vote, you must be logged into a MyWyoming Account (see above). A user can cast 1 vote per video, meaning that if you have multiple favorites, you can vote for them all.

How do you select a winner?
There are three stages to this contest: the submission round, the public voting round, and the judges' panel round. After the submission round ends, all entries will go on to public voting. The ten short films with the most votes become finalists. Our judges' panel will review these finalists and select the ultimate winner.

How do you handle voting fraud?
We have a highly trained staff of web monkeys dedicated to sniffing out voting fraud. Seriously folks, if you put all the hard work and time into making a film, don't disqualify yourself by stuffing the ballot box. We reserve the right to discard fraudulent votes, and in serious cases to disqualify entries.
